Muine Bheag Vocational School Set To Close Its Doors

Updated: Thursday 10.01PM

It has been confirmed to KCLR today, Thursday, that Muine Bheag Vocational School, Bagenalstown, is to close its doors.

KCLR understands a fall in student numbers in recent times is being one of the factors being attributed to the school’s pending closure.

Effective this September there will be no intake of new students as enrolment will cease, the school itself believed to be closing fully inside the next five years.

This will have a knock on effect on students in the junior cycle in the school along with those undertaking PLC courses.

Councillor Denis Foley has said it is a sad day for all those who have been involved in the school since 1963.
