Irishmen and women who died whilst serving with the United Nations are being honoured today in Kilkenny.
A National Day of Commemoration is being held on the grounds of Kilkenny Castle today.
A Military Guard of honour is taking place and the Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Mary Hilda Cavanagh will lay a wreath in memory of those who died in wars or serving with the UN.
