New army recruits passing out in Kilkenny today

24 new army recruits have their official passing out parade today in Kilkenny.
The cadets made up of men and women from counties including Kilkenny, Waterford, Tipperary and Wexford have been training in James Stephens Barracks over the past 17 weeks.
The ceremony takes place at the Watershed in the City at 12 and is being officiated by former Kilkenny hurler and now General Officer Commanding 1 Brigade, Brigadier General Kieran Brennan.
Two local men, Darren Fanning from Ballycallan and Gary Lehane from the City are among the group passing out.
