Michael Doran is looking forward to a fuller schedule of activities as Cathaoirleach of the Muinebheag Municipal District over the coming 12 months, having last held the chain during the Covid-19 restrictions.
He was selected to succeed Councillor Daniel Pender at yesterday’s Municipal District AGM, with Cllr Pender now serving as Leas-Cathaoirleach for the next year.
Cllr Doran told KCLR News that he’s; “Looking forward to engage in particular with the Tidy Towns groups, I’d like to get to meet as many of them as I can during my year, as well as the local business community, there’s quite an active Chamber of Commerce here and just keep them up to speed on what’s happening, I think I’m one of the only rate payers on Carlow County Council, I think there’s one or two more of us, so it’s obviously an area I’m fairly interested in particularly smaller, local businesses, and obviously tourism”.
Stay tuned for more, KCLR News’ Dermot Keyes was at the meeting.
