The new community centre at Lios na Gráinne in Crokers Hill is being described as the heart of the new development.
The 88-home scheme, Kilkenny City’s largest social housing development, officially opened last Friday.
The centre will give residents a place to meet, socialise and take part in events, with discos and other activities planned.
Teac Tom founder Angela Hayes says it’s all about building a strong community, while also providing a space where people can feel supported when it comes to their mental health.
The Residents Association was set up 13 weeks ago, they have put a plan of events together for young and not so young to encourage people to come together as a community.
