New Dáil Deputy vows not to forget about Carlow

Our newest Dáil Deputy has vowed not to forget Carlow.

Kathleen Funchion is the first Sinn Fein candidate to be elected to the Dail for the Carlow Kilkenny constituency in 93 years.

And she is the only change in personnel in this 5 seater – John McGuinness, John Paul Phelan, Pat Deering and Bobby Aylward all retained their seats with Labours Ann Phelan the one to miss out.

Speaking after her election, Kathleen promised a 50/50 split between the two counties, ensuring Carlow isn’t forgotten.
