A new Friday train service from Dublin to Waterford will bypass Kilkenny completely.
Iarnrod Eireann has trialled a quarter past 4 service over the past 2 Fridays and say now they will continue it every Friday.
Its an express service that will only serve Athy and Carlow on the route and will not stop in either Kilkenny or Thomastown.
