Plans are in place to tackle long-running dumping problems at a local cemetery in Callan.
The council has agreed to regularly remove surplus clay from graves at Kilbride Cemetery.
Visitors are also being urged to take home any rubbish after tending to graves.
Councillor Joe Lyons says the council will also put in deterrents.
“There’s three areas where they have been dumping their rubbish from the graves constant over the last couple of years and it is a graveyard where people get access mainly by car so they can put their rubbish into the car and bring it home.” said Councillor Lyons.
“So the council will put in clay like a rockery and the committee, the cemetery committee has agreed to put in seating so they’re going to put in this recyclable seating.” he added.
