Sheppard’s Irish Auction House are central to a new TV series which began last night.
Country House Auction, which focuses on the crew with the backdrop of Castle Durrow in Co Laois, started its roll out on Channel 4, continuing each Tuesday from 9pm.
Each episode will follow a selection of unique and one-of-a-kind items as they are brought to auction from stately home clearances, castles or private collections with past owners and prospective rival buyers sharing why the objects are so important to them as antiques experts offer their view on the value and significance of each item to bidders.
Contributors include renowned Kilkenny cabinetmaker and master restorer, Kieran Costelloe while a lot from the ancestral estate of famous writer Dean Jonathan Swift, Swiftsheath in Kilkenny, will feature on next Tuesday’s programme.
