New ‘Tenant Purchase Scheme’ being welcomed locally

Locals living in council housing will soon have the option of buying their homes from the council.

A new tenant purchase scheme is being rolled out in January which will see houses offered to tenants at discounts of up to 60 percent.

Carlow County Council’s Housing Officer, Tim Butler told KCLR News that this initiative will also allow people to take more pride in the areas their living in.
