No facelift for Tullow Street before 2018 at the earliest

Carlow’s main thoroughfare won’t be getting a facelift before 2018.
Capital funds are available to improve the look of Tullow Street in Carlow town centre.
However, Irish water are due to upgrade pipes there before any works go ahead.
This week’s meeting of Carlow County Council heard Irish Water will not be ready to carry out upgrade works until this time next year.
Members also heard while some capital funds were leftover from the “town council era” resources are not “unlimited”.
Acting Director of Services, Liam Fitzgerald told KCLR that they have to try get the best value for money that they can.
