There was no fairytale ending for Cartoon Saloon in Hollywood last night as they missed out on the Oscar for Best Animated Feature film.
The Kilkenny animators made the trip to LA for the Academy Awards while those left behind gathered at Set Theatre to watch, in hope, that Song of the Sea might emerge victorious.
Big Hero 6 won the category though.
Birdman was the big winner taking the top honour of the night – best picture & best director. It also won best original screenplay and best cinematography.
Best actress went to Julianne Moore for Still Alice and Patricia Arquette took best supporting actrees for Boyhood
Best actor went to Eddie Redmayne for his portrayal of Professor Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything. JK Simmons won best supporting actor for Whiplash.
