There were no major weather related issues reported in Carlow or Kilkenny following Storm Dave’s visit.
Warnings had been in place across the country since early yesterday (Saturday), mainly Yellow status though Wexford’s was upgraded to orange.
Thousands of homes, farms and businesses are without power in pockets of the country this morning and ESB Networks crews have mobilised to restore electricity to those impacted – largely in Kerry and amid band from the west to east coasts but with pockets closest to us including over 400 in county Wexford and more than 120 in Thurles, county Tipperary.
The worst of the storm passed away overnight, with colder but calmer weather expected for the rest of the Bank Holiday.
However, the RNLI’s advising it will take a couple of days for the seas to calm down.
