Nominations Open For 19th Annual Family Carer Of The Year Awards

Nominations have opened for the Family Carer of the Year Awards, recognising carers who provide vital support to loved ones across Ireland.

The awards are now in their 19th year, with Family Carers Ireland highlighting the pressures many carers face.

More than 624,000 people in Ireland provide care for a family member or friend, including many young carers who support loved ones at home.

Family Carers Ireland says 75% of those surveyed have never received respite, while 71% struggle to make ends meet.

Nominations for the Lidl Family Carer and Young Carer of the Year Awards are open until 5:00 PM on Friday, October 9th.

County winners will be recognised locally, with the national awards taking place in Dublin in November.
