Traffic is the biggest issue facing a number of local communities.
Councillors from the Castlecomer Local Electoral Area yesterday had an update on the Paulstown and Ballyragget draft masterplans both of which have been out for public consultation with a number of submissions returned, the majority of those citing challenges of fast moving vehicles in particular close to schools, nursing homes and sporting facilities.
Added to that there were concerns too outlining the need to promote sports outside of GAA codes, the need for visitor accommodation and the importance of community centres.
The plans are now being refined and will be presented in full to the municipal district representatives at their September meeting.
