A county Kilkenny nursing home found to be non compliant with 25 regulations has moved to address concerns.
The Brookhaven facility in Ballyragget had unannounced HIQA inspections across two days last September during which inspectors heard of issues around short-staffing, staff supervision and an outbreak of scabies which was mainly confined to one wing with an isolated case in another. (Full report here).
All of the breaches were deemed to be at an Orange or moderate risk rating with compliance to be met at various dates up until and including tomorrow.
A spokesperson for Brookhaven’s told KCLR News today that they have since replaced both management and clinical teams there with a new person-in-charge, new director of nursing as well as new management.
They also had a positive HIQA inspection on the 10th of December at which it was noted significant progress had been established.
