Number of people had to be cut from cars after crash outside Bagenalstown this evening

A number of people had to be cut from their cars after a bad crash outside Bagenalstown this evening.

Two cars collided on Slyguff Bridge at about 4 o’clock and Gardaí, ambulances and the fire service attended.

The injuries are not believed to have been life-threatening and they have been taken to St Luke’s Hospital.

That stretch on the Bagenalstown to Borris Road is still closed and is likely to stay closed until 7.30pm.
Meanwhile, emergency services are still dealing with a major oil spill in Tullow town.

It also happened at about 4 o’clock on the Main Street there.

While traffic is said to be moving along there, you’re being advised to avoid the area completely if possible.
