A four-vehicle crash has taken place on the M8 near Urlingford this morning.
It happened at around 9 o’clock, Northbound between Urlingford and Rathdowney when three cars and an articulated lorry collided.
One man has been badly injured and had to be cut from the vehicle.
He has since been taken to hospital.
That stretch of road had been closed but has since reopened (updated: 12:00)
Meanwhile, you’re being urged to take your time on the roads locally this morning as the shower of rain has only made them more dangerous after freezing temperatures overnight.
Earlier, a car turned over on its roof on the road between Knocktopher and Hugginstown.
While Gardaí say they’ve had reports of up to four cars skidding on ice on the bridge in Castlecomer.
