The OPW to begin daily tours of Kells Priory

One local village looks set for a boost to tourism and its local economy.
The new Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Matt Doran says the OPW has now agreed to begin daily tours of Kells Priory.
The 12th century National Monument was last in use almost 500 years ago when it was eventually dissolved.
A major excavation of the site began in the 1970s and continued for the next 20 years.
The decision to give tours of the priory was made after a meeting with the OPW and members of the council during which they were given a tour of the area.
Speaking to KCLR News today, Cathaoirleach Doran says it’s great news for the area.
