We hear a lot about the usefulness of alternative therapies to work side by side with our Doctor’s medications and advice. Elizabeth Kent, a Carlow based chartered physiotherapist, joined Mary on this week’s show to chat about Acupuncture. Originally a skeptic herself, Elizabeth is now a fully fledged practitioner. Green Councillor for Kilkenny Malcolm Noonan was on to talk about a variety of events taking place in the city and county. Including TradFest which you can find out more about here:
He also spoke of the St Patrick’s Day Parade for the City and called on people to take part – if you’d like to put in a float you’ll find the application form available for download here
Janette O’Brien from Community & Enterprise Dept of Carlow County Council updated on events in that county. In particular the Entente Florale which sees Ireland represented by Clonegal. Leighlinbridge was the last local area in this position. That was in 2001 and they brought home a gold medal. If you’d like to give a hand contact Janette at the local authority or John McCabe in Clonegal.
Janette also spoke about a special free event taking place with chef Edward Hayden. You’ll find details of this in our own Community Diary online.
