Outrage in Callan as items go missing from local graveyard

“These people clearly don’t have any respect for the dead”

The words of Callan man John Stapleton who says that items have been taken off graves in Killbride Cemetery.

A number of items including family flowers, stone chippings and ornaments have been taken from different graves in recent times.

Speaking to KCLR news, John says something has to be done to stop the people responsible from doing it again.

And he says there is no valid explanation for stealing items from a dead person’s grave – that it must be for monetary gain seeing as none of the items appear to have been dumped in the locality.
