Over 100 Christmas dinners will be delivered to those in need in Kilkenny City today.
The meals will be prepared by Army Personnel at James Stephens Military Barracks and distributed by volunteers from the O’Loughlins and James Stephen’s GAA Clubs and the Kilkenny Lions Club.
Deputy Mayor Joe Malone is one of the organisers,
“We go around the city to people that need the dinners and I always say to the people that are going around, we could be the only person that they would see over the next three days. You know, we’ll have a chat with them as we go around and that, you know,”
“A huge thanks to the Army who prepared the meals. There’s over 100 meals going to be distributed around the city and I look forward to it every year, you know, and the weather is very nice today. So, you know, it’s been nice for to meet people along the way as well.”
