Enya Kennedy was born in Ballymena in Northern Ireland and had, to say the least, a very difficult childhood. She left home as a result at the age of 16 to make a new life for herself, settling in nearby Randalstown.
When her children were born along, Enya, with a group of concerned parents, set up one of the first fully integrated schools in the North, not an easy task in that part of Ireland at that time, but it has gone from strength to strength.
She moved to Kilkenny in 2006 and it has become her home in every respect. Juggling her many demands she returned to full time education inrecent years and achieved a degree in Citizenship and Community Studies from Carlow College.
She has just recently started on a new phase in her life, opening the Kilkenny Health And Wellness Centre.
