Local families of people with Acquired Brain Injuries say they’re delighted a permanent support service is now available in Kilkenny.
A campaign was started last year by local woman, Ellen Corrigan, who’s brother JJ has an ABI.
She and those helping her managed to gather 10,000 signatures on a petition looking for a support service in Kilkenny so people no longer had to travel to Tipperary.
It’s up and running one day a week in St Patricks Centre on the Kells Road every Tuesday from 10am-1pm.
Speaking to KCLR News, Ellen says a temporary service opened locally in November it’s already been hugely beneficial.
