Planning granted for renovation project at Knockbeg College

A secondary school in Carlow has been given the go ahead for a multi million euro makeover.

KCLR news reported back in November how Knockbeg college had been granted the funding for works that would see a complete renovation and extension of the buildings there which are over 220 years old.

Now planning permision has been granted the work is expected to start later this year taking between 18 to 24 months to complete.

Principal Michael Carew says they’ve been waiting for this for a long time.
