Pope Francis has written to a Carlow teenager whose mother is a clerical abuse survivor.
14 year old Nicole Kane received the letter in response to one she wrote to him, which her mother Marie gave to the pontiff during a meeting earlier this month.
She outlined her disappointment in the church and said she hoped the pope would make the church a safer place for children.
In his reply, Pope Francis said he wouldn’t forget what the local girl had said to him and thanked her for supporting her mother.
