Post mortem to be carried out today on body of man recovered from River Nore

A post mortem exam will be carried out today on the body of a man recovered from the River Nore in Kilkenny yesterday.

The 30 year old from Tipperary has not yet been named – his body was found by divers searching a stretch of the river between the Lady Desart bridge and Johns Bridge just after 11 o clock yesterday morning.

Passers-by raised the alarm on Tuesday evening after spotting a man in the water.

A post mortem is expected at Waterford regional hospital today.

Gardai say the man wont be named until all family have been notified.
