It’s hoped that all homes still without power since yesterdays storm will be restored by this evening.
Crews are working since first light this morning to get the supply back for hundreds of customers in Carlow and Kilkenny.

Meanwhile the storm clean up continues. A tree fell earlier at Summerhill in Thomastown and the road near the Long Man of Kilfane had to be closed as a result.
Emergency services were unable to move it so theyre awaiting the services of a tree-surgeon. You’re urged to avoid the area.
