The achievements of a local tidy towns group are being honoured at a special ceremony in Kilkenny Castle now.
President Michael D. Higgins arrived in the City in the last hour to meet members of Keep Kilkenny Beautiful and present them with their gold medal after winning the overall National Tidy Towns award last year.

President Higgins will also shortly be unveiling a plaque marking the achievement.
Speaking to KCLR, Vice-Chairperson of Keep Kilkenny Beautiful, Alma Pegg, says this is the culmination of a lot of hard work.
