Primary teachers across Carlow and Kilkenny are to be balloted for industrial action today.
The INTO is encouraging it’s members to vote in favour of action in response to a number of issues including the ban on promotions and also increased workloads.
Both Kilkenny and Carlow INTO members will be balloted from this afternoon between 3pm and 9pm.
Local Union representative and Principal at St Patrick’s De La Salle Primary School in Kilkenny, Joe McKeown has told KCLR news the promotions-ban has been particularly difficult on teachers.
