Proposal for accommodation for homeless women in Kilkenny City welcomed

Plans for new temporary accommodation for homeless women in the city have been broadly welcomed by councillors.

It’s understood Greensbridge House B&B is to be refurbished and transformed into a number of self-contained units by early next year.

These will be used to temporarily house homeless women in Kilkenny – of which there are six currently being put up in emergency accommodation.

Councillor Breda Gardner told KCLR News all the council members have given this project their backing.

It’s understood they’ll be able to stay there for six months to a year.
