Prospects good for new plan to save 160 Carlow jobs
New hope is emerging for staff at Dan Morrisseys.
It’s understood that the recievers Grant Thornton have been putting together a new plan to save the company.
the 160 staff were laid off last week after recievers were appointed for a second time when an Examiner’s plan to save the Benekerry business was rejected.
The could be news coming out soon about a new investment from a company that intends to back a major shareholder in a new company.
It’s believed that some of the jobs will be saved under the new plans.
A new company would re-hire a number of staff in the short term but hope are high that most of the jobs could be brought back online in the longer term.
