There was disruption to traffic in Kilkenny city this morning as vehicles came out to demonstrate their anger to rising fuel costs by protesting.
Around 30 vehicles were in convoy around the ring road which Gardaí say caused major disrutpion to traffic flow.
It’s ‘The People of Ireland Against Fuel Prices’ organised protests across the country.
Major disruption was also seen on the M8 and the north and southbound exits from Urlingford as vehicles blocked traffic for a time before allowing cars and vans to pass.
Motorists are being advised that long delays may be possible.
There are calls for the removal of carbon tax, and further reductions for excise duty on fuel.
