Protest planned against a religious speaker in Kilkenny tonight as petition gets over 1,600 signatures

A protest is being planned against a controversial South African preacher who’s due to speak at an event in Cilin Hill in Kilkenny.
Angus Buchan claims to be able to ”cure” homosexuality through prayer and says that women should be more subservient to men.
local gay-rights campaigners tried to have the event, which is organised by the Christian group Together for Ireland, stopped after collecting 1,600 signatures on a petition.
Kilkenny Councillor Patrick McKee says he’s very disappointed the pastor is being allowed to speak because his talks have been classed as hate-speech by many groups around the world…
Meanwhile, Mr Buchan says his talk tonight won’t have anything to do with gay people.
He says he’s not looking to cause controversy.
