A meeting takes place in Carlow today to discuss how the county will mark 100 years since the 1916 rising next year.
A public meeting takes place from 7.30 at the Lord Bagenal Hotel where they’re launching a project where communities can get grants to do their own celebrations.
The council will also be organising events throughout the county.
Dermot Mulligan from Carlow museum says there’s a very strong local link to the 1916 rising.
