Public meeting taking place to set up COPD support group in Carlow

Carlow has one of the highest rates of COPD or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in the country.

That’s according to Dr Brian Fitzgibbons who is a Senior Respiratory Physiotherapist in St Luke’s Hospital.

He’s one of the organisers behind a public meeting taking place in Carlow this Thursday with the aim of setting up a support group for those with this lung disease.

Speaking to KCLR News, Dr Fitzgibbons says it’s something that seems to have affected Carlow people in particular.

The meeting takes place in the Talbot Hotel at 7pm.
