The best of the Irish cyclists in this year’s Rás na mBan says it was a very tough 5 days.
The race – which this year took place in Kilkenny – began last Wednesday and finished on Saturday night.
However, it was forced to finish sooner than planned because of a bad tumble involving a number of cyclists – with 4 of them taken to hospital.
The cycle lasted 400 kilometres, and 6 stages over 5 days with 121 riders taking part.
Belfast’s Clare McIlwane was the best of the Irish – claiming the Green Jersey and she told KCLR Live this morning that it’d be great for more women to get involved in competitive cycling.
