The council has given notice of its intention to renovate and extent whats known as the Mayfair ballroom to be used as a general office space and other facilities.

The building was previously used an office area and canteen for former diageo staff at the brewery.

The main feature of the development include the demolition of the single and two story buildings there, a new wraparound two story extension to the east, south and west facades.

It also would see a public urban square as well as other works.

Plans are available to view from Monday the 15th of December at county buildings.
