No reduction to Carlow's Local Property Tax

There’s no reduction in the Local Property Tax in Carlow.

The County Council’s voted to keep the charge at the standard rate this afternoon.

The Fianna Fail and Sinn Fein were proposing a full 15% cut but this would have meant taking over €600,000 from the funding for services provided by the local authority.

Labour and Fine Gael members released a statement afterwards dismissing the opposition move as irresponsible electioneering.
