Relief for local campaign groups as pylon plans are scrapped

Groups who actively campaigned against a new pylon corridor through Carlow and Kilkenny say they are hugely relieved the plan has been axed.

Eirgrid revealed yesterday that they no longer need to install the huge pylons that would have run right through this area as part of the plans to upgrade the network in this region.

John Leamy of the Care for Clara group says its a very welcome development.
