An ‘eyesore’ on the border of Kilkenny and Wexford has now been demolished.
The remains of the Albatros fertiliser plant, which once employed hundreds of people locally, had been lying untouched for more than two years.
Back in 2015 the company who own it had spent in the region of a million euro removing asbestos from the site but nothing was done with it thereafter.
South Kilkenny Councillors were due to be given an update on it at a meeting this morning but that meeting has now been postponed due to a bereavement.
