Richie Kavanagh to pen a new song to commemorate 1916 rising

Richie Kavanagh has revealed to KCLR his plans to record a new song to commemorate the 1916 rising.

The Carlow singer/songwriter is ready to put pen to paper to create his newest tune.

It comes after his song ‘Chicken Talk’ got over 4 million hits online.

Despite being diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in 2011, the ‘Aon Focal Eile’ singer is still gigging across the country.

Richie told KCLR that the song may be about the locals he knew who took part in the Rising and the subsequent wars.
