Road Accident Victims being remembered today
Those who died in Road Accidents are being remembered around the world today.
Over 1.2 million people worldwide are killed on the roads every year.
The Day of Remembrance for the victims was first held in the UK in 1993 and has since been arranged by non-goverment organisations in a number of countries.
Locally, a special memorial mass will take place in St Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny at 11am and in St Michaels Parish Church, Athy at 2pm.
