Ronnie Whelan visits Carlow on fundraising walk

Former Ireland and Liverpool player Ronnie Whelan is in Carlow today to raise money for charity.
The soccer star is passing through the town on his way from Dublin to Waterford in aid of “Myaware” which supports people with Myasthenia Gravis.
It’s a rare condition which can affect anyone and causes weakness in all muscles in the body.
He says his daughter Elizabeth was diagnosed with it 9 years ago and he wants to help raise awareness and money.
Ronnie will stay in Carlow tonight before setting off tomorrow towards Waterford passing through Gowran and Thomastown on the way.
