The Road Safety Authority is launching a new ‘Back to School campaign aimed a raising awareness about children’s safety on Irish roads.
The body says the number of children killed on Irish roads has more than doubled this year. In 2013, six children lost their lives – so far this year 13 have been killed in road accidents.
As schools re-open after the holidays, the RSA is urging parents to make sure their children are safe on the road.
More than 85 thousand hi-vis vests will also be distributed to school children across Ireland.
