Sales of the Kilkenny Gift Card last month more than doubled compared to the same period last year, rising from €148,000 to over €290,000.
The gift card, which was launched in November 2024, can only be spent in Kilkenny businesses.
CEO of Kilkenny Chamber, John Hurley, has welcomed the card’s success and has advice for those who received one.
“If you are one of the many, many people who received a gift card, go out now and spend it.” he said.
“It’s no good sitting in a drawer or in your back pocket, go out and spend it and avail of the facility, it’s a huge choice that you have”.
“There’s over 140 different shops and businesses that are accepting the Kilkenny gift card, so you’ll have no problem spending it if you just put your mind to it.” he added.
