A number of weather warnings are due to be lifted this morning.
A third night of yellow alerts for low temperatures and ice for Leinster, Munster and parts of Connacht, as well as snow and ice warnings in Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim and Mayo come to an end at 9am.
Met Éireann says it will start dry in the east, with some showers in the west.
Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather reckons we’ve seen the end of the recent arctic blast noting; “It will stay cool in the East but all areas will see temperatures increasing a little bit today and the risk of frost will ease off but there is still a risk of temperatures getting down to zero degrees again tonight but the severe cold that we’ve had, where we’ve seen temperatures down to minus six, that is moving on now”.
