Shock locally following death of man in Kilkenny workplace incident

There’s shock locally following the death of a man in a workplace incident in Kilkenny.

Aged in his fifties and believed to be from the county it’s understood he was struck by a vehicle at 4 o’clock approx yesterday in the Dublin Road area of the city’s outskirts.

Emergency services attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene before being taken to University Hospital Waterford for a post mortem.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have launched investigations.
