Shortfalls in Carlow/Kilkenny mental health services outlined in report

Shortfalls in the assessment of patients in Carlow/Kilkenny have been outlined in a report by the Mental Health Commission today.
Chairman of the Commission, John Saunders, has claimed that lives could have been saved in the Carlow/Kilkenny and South Tipperary areas if the suicide risk-assessment had been more consistent.
Speaking on KCLR Live, Mr Saunders says a lack of communication between teams involved in the care of psychiatric patients was one of the main issues.
