Avril Lavigne says she has been ‘bedridden for five months’ after picking up Lyme Disease. The Canadian singer revealed her health troubles in an interview with People magazine. She’s been recovering in her Ontario home over the past few months, aided by family and Nickelback husband Chad Kroeger (40).
The singer says she ‘thought she was dying’ from the infection – which is spread by ticks.

Avril went on to say that she ‘couldn’t breathe, talk or move’ after being struck down by the nasty illness.
“There were definitely times I couldn’t shower for a full week because I could barely stand,” she says. “It felt like having all your life sucked out of you.”
